Sesame Garlic Steak

Sesame-Garlic Sirloin Steak

Broiled sirloin steak gets fabulous flavor from sesame seeds and a variety of Asian condiments; you can find them in the Asian section of the grocery store or in Asian markets. Dark sesame oil adds a rich, nutty sesame taste, while hoisin sauce contributes a bit of sweetness.

2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
12 oz. boneless beef top sirloin steak (1 inch thick)
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted

1. In resealable plastic bag, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, chili-garlic sauce and garlic; add steak. Seal bag; turn to coat both sides. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes.

2. Heat broiler; place steak on broiler pan. Reserve marinade. Spoon half of the reserved marinade over steak. Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, turning once and brushing with marinade.

3. Place steak on cutting board. Cover loosely with foil; let stand 5 minutes before slicing thinly. Sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds.
